Austin Lash, MD, is a native of Shreveport, Louisiana. After graduating with highest honors from Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology and a minor in Chemistry, he returned home to complete medical school at Louisiana State University Medical Center. Dr. Lash served his intern year at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Austin Texas where he met and married his wife before returning to Shreveport to complete a residency in Ophthalmology.
Dr. Lash then underwent a Cornea and Anterior Segment fellowship at University of Texas Southwest Medical Center in Dallas to further specialize in complex cataract surgery, corneal and endothelial transplantation, corneal disease management, anterior segment reconstruction, and laser refractive surgery. Dr. Lash's interests outside of his family include physical fitness, spending time outdoors, and working in his wood shop.
